Home > Star Ferry

Star Ferry in Hong Kong transports people across Victoria Harbor, between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and has been operating since the late 1800s.

The fleet of nine ferries operates four routes across the harbor, carrying over 70,000 passengers a day, or 26 million a year. Even though today there are more modern ways to cross the harbor by subway and road tunnels, the Star Ferry is highly efficient and useful, while providing the famous view of the harbor and Hong Kong skyline. It is also the cheapest transport of crossing harbour at just HK$2(ca. US25c).
