Home > Stan Struthers


Stan Struthers is a Manitoba politician, and a current member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Born in Swan River, Manitoba , Struthers graduated from Swan Valley Regional Secondary School in 1977, and later received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from Brandon University, and his Masters of Education from the University of Manitoba.

Struthers was first elected to the Manitoba Legislature in 1995 as the member for Dauphin and was re-elected as the MLA for Dauphin-Roblin in 1999 and again in 2003. In his first term, he served as the NDP's Natural Resources Critic and Deputy Agriculture Critic. After the NDP formed government, Struthers served as the Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Health , the Honourable Dave Chomiak. Struthers was appointed Minister of Conservation in November 2003.
