Stamford is located at 32°56'57" North, 99°47'24" West (32.949193, -99.789942) ¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 33.3 km² (12.9 mi²). 15.4 km² (6.0 mi²) of it is land and 17.8 km² (6.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 53.62% water.
