Home > Stacy's Mom

"Stacy's Mom" was a hit 2003 song by Fountains of Wayne. It is about a boy's adolescent fantasies about a friend's mother. It details his attempts to spend time with the friend, probably causing her to think he is interested in her, when in fact he only wants to get closer to her mother, in an ironic reversal of the Lolita story. The song was featured on the group's Welcome Interstate Managers album released on June 10, 2003.

This song became a hit partly due to the video, which features several comedic scenes in the boy's attempts to get closer to the object of his affections (played by Rachel Hunter), as well as a number of his relatively innocent fantasies.

"Stacy's Mom" appeared on the U.S. Top 40 chart and was one of the first #1 top songs on the iTunes Music Store. In the Grammy Awards of 2004, the song was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
