Sparwood is a town in British Columbia, Canada. It is the second largest community on the Elk River.

Located approximatly 30 kilometers from Fernie, Sparwood is a town of approximatly 3500 people. The local Economy is based primarily on the local Coalmines of the Elk Valley Coal Company, a conglamorate formed from the 5 area mines.

Sparwood's "Claim to Fame" is that it is home to the Terex Titan, at one time the largest truck in the world.

Economy: The economy focuses on the mining industry, with a large part of the population working at the mines, or working for the various companies that support the mines. Logging is another focus, though a much smaller percent of the population works in Forestry than in mining.
