Skellefteċ is a Municipality in Västerbotten County, in northern Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 6838.4 km². Of the total population of 72476, 35984 are male, and 36492 are female. The population density of the community is 11 inhabitants per km².The municipality borders in the south to Robertsfors, and clockwise to Umeċ, Vindeln, Norsjö, Arvidsjaur and Piteċ. Norra Västerbotten is the local newspaper of Skellefteċ.
