Single-sideband emission is a form of Amplitude modulation in which only one of the sidebands is transmitted. Conventional Amplitude modulation transmits a lower sideband, a carrier, and an upper sideband. Single-sideband transmission is usually found in shortwave radio bands, with some stations utilizing sidebands to reduce noise in the signal.
