Sinepuxent was a town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, on the mainland across from Assateague Island . It was completely destroyed by a hurricane in 1818 and never rebuilt.

Sinepuxent was the birthplace of U.S. Navy officer Stephen Decatur ( 1779).
