Shinuiju (Shinuiju-shi) is the capital of North P'yongan Province, North Korea, on the border with China. The city is near Shinuiju Special Administrative Region, which was established in 2002 to try introducing the market economy.
The city is on the border with China, which is marked by the Yalu River, which empties into Korea Bay at this location. At Seoul, the line connected with the Gyeongbu Line to Busan, railroad line (known as the P'yongui in the North).
