The Scottish football league system (or pyramid) is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Scotland .

It is not as well developed as most other football league systems, consisting of only two leagues made up of just four divisions. It is also unusual in that it has no regional leagues. Leagues do exist outside the pyramid (most notably the Highland Football League), but there is no regular promotion or relegation between them and the pyramid.

One club based in England, Berwick Rangers, plays in the Scottish system.

The Current System

The current system has been in place since the creation of the Scottish Premier League at the start of the 1998-1999 season. For each division, its official name, sponsorship name (which often differs radically from its official name) and number of clubs is given:
