Sandra Julia Gidley (born March 26, 1957) is a British politician and the current Member of Parliament for the Romsey constituency. She is a Liberal Democrat MP and was elected to her seat in a by-election on May 4, 2000 after the death of the incumbent Conservative MP Michael Colvin. She was re-elected in the 2001 general election and is the Liberal Democrats' Shadow Minister for Women and Spokesperson for Older People. Prior to her election she had been a Borough Councillor between 1995 and 2003, and in 1997 became the youngest ever female Mayor of Romsey. She is also a qualified pharmacist.


She is married and has two children. She lists her interests as; reading, cookery, the theatre and badminton.
