Rudy Tomjanovich is best known as a basketball player and coach. The entirety of his playing career was for the Houston Rockets. Tomjanovich was unable to play for several months due to life-threatening injuries from a punch from Kermit Washington.
Tomjanovich would later become coach of the Rockets and lead them to back-to-back NBA championships in 1994 and 1995.
As of 2004, Tomjanovich is the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, after Phil Jackson left.
