The Rover 600 Series is a mid-size automobile launched early in 1993. On the outside it was basically a reworked Honda Accord, but its 1.8 L, 2.0 L and 2.3 L straight-4 petrol engines and 2.0 L turbo- Diesel were all developed by Rover. The 600's interior was classy with wood and chrome as well as impressive equipment levels, although rear legroom was rather constrained. Its Honda-derived chassis gave a comfortable but hardly sporting ride. Prices were reasonably competitive, and considerably lower than the value of its premium rivals like the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

In 1995, the 620 Turbo was launched with a turbocharged 2.0 L engine and a top speed of 140mph. It had more refinement and performance than the standard 600, but could not match the BMW M3 for driver enjoyment.

Rover 600 production ceased after six years in the Spring of 1999 on the launch of the retro-styled Rover 75, which also replaced the larger 800 Series.
