Ronald Takaki (born 1939) in Oahu, Hawaii is an author of mostly ethno-centered books, regarding Asian Americans as the model minority. He strives "to write a more inclusive and hence mor accurate history of Americans, Chicanos, Native Americans as well as certain European immigrant groups like the Irish and Jews."

He is currently teaching at University of California, Berkeley.
