View of Roberval
Roberval, with a population of 11,000, is the second largest city on the shore of Lac Saint-Jean after Alma. It is located at the southern tip of the lake. It was founded in 1955 on the bank of the Tremblay River where settlers had built a sawmill. It is now a main service center for the area with a hospital and some government services.
It is the only Lac Saint-Jean town whose core is directly on the lakeshore.
