1 Biography

Born as Enrique Martin Morales, Martin has achieved worldwide success, starting with his selection to substitute Ricky Melendez in Menudo in 1984 until 1988. His meteoric ascent to fame started in Menudo's homebase, Caguas, site of his first concert. He signed Sony in 1990.

It continued after he left Menudo, when he moved to Mexico and participated in soap operas like Alcanzar Una Estrella II and in the music group Munecos De Papel . Later, in Hollywood he played Miguel Morez on General Hospital. It was in Mexico where he met Rebecca de AlbaRebecca de Alba is a Mexican television presenter and former model. She was the Zacatecas representative to the Miss Mexico pageant in the 1980s. She had once the #1 morning show in Mexico with former rock-and-roll Costa Rican star Cesar Costa. Ricky established himself in Miami and connected with music creator Desmond ChildDesmond Child (born 28 October 1953, Miami, Florida, USA) has worked as a performer and songwriter. His career started when he formed a soft rock band 'Desmond Child & Rouge' in 1975. Child has had more success with his songwriting and has worked with/for and Puerto Rican agent Angelo Medina . Martin has also teamed up with former Menudo bandmate Robi Rosa, who has written many of Ricky's hits. Martin recently adopted three little girls from India.

In 2003, Martin announced that he and his agent, Angelo Medina, have parted ways.

In February of 2004, Martin received a lifetime achievement award at the Premios Lo Nuestro in Miami.
