Republic is an unincorporated community located in Marquette County, Michigan. It is a Census-designated place (CDP) used for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 614. The community is located within Republic Township.

1 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 10.1 km² (3.9 mi²). 9.3 km² (3.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 7.67% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 614 people, 276 households, and 187 families residing in the community. The population density is 65.7/km² (170.1/mi²). There are 356 housing units at an average density of 38.1/km² (98.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 98.05% White, 0.00% African American, 1.63% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census.
