A United States Coast Guard Cutter passes Renaissance Center (General Motors headquarters).

The Renaissance Center is a group of skyscrapers in downtown Detroit, on the Detroit River front, that form a significant portion of the city's skyline, developed by Henry Ford II. The first tower opened on July 1, 1976.

The building house a 1,298-room, 73-story hotel, retail shops, a Detroit People Mover stop and originally a Ford Motor Company office. In 1996 GM bought the main buildings which became the headquarters of General Motors. Of the 8,000 people that work in the complex 6,000 are GM employees. GM gained control of Towers 500 and 600 in 2001. The complex has 5.5 million ft² including 150,000 ft² of retail space.
