Randall Charles Bachman (born September 27, 1943) was a part of the 1970s rock band, The Guess Who, and later Bachman-Turner Overdrive. He became a legendary figure in the rock and roll world through his talents as a guitarist, songwriter, and performer. Bachman was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

In 2000, he made a guest appearance on The Simpsons as himself with his former Bachman-Turner Overdrive band-mates. Simpsons creator Matt Groening (whose dad is originally from Winnipeg), is a well known BTO fan.

On September 17th, 2004, Bachman, as well as fellow Canadian musicians Neil Young, the Barenaked Ladies, and Tal Bachman (son of Randy), held a "Clean Air Concert," in the Cowichan Community Centre in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. The purpose of the concert was to raise money for a study of the nearby NorskeCanada mill in Crofton, British ColumbiaCrofton, British Columbia Canada, is a small town that is part of the District of North Cowichan on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The population is estimated around 2,500 people. Crofton was founded in 1902 by Henry Croft, who owned the nearby cop. Some believed Bachman did this only because his property on Salt Spring IslandSalt Spring Island is the largest, most populated, and most visited of the Gulf Islands chain, named by officers of the Hudson's Bay Company for the cold and briny saltwater springs on the north end of the island. Saltspring has been a seasonal home of th overlooks the mill, and he didn't not want the smoke in sight.
