The Qianlong Emperor ( September 25, 1711– February 7, 1799) was the fifth emperor of the Manchu Qing dynasty, and the fourth Qing emperor to rule over China. The fourth son of the Yongzheng EmperorThe Yongzheng Emperor ( December 13, 1678 October 8, 1735), born Yinzhen was Emperor of the Qing Dynasty from 1723 to 1735. He was a tough and hard-working ruler bent on effective government at minimum expense. Like his father, the Kangxi Emperor Yongzhen, he reigned officially from October 18October 18 is the 291st day of the year (292nd in Leap years). There are 74 days remaining. Events 1009 The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a Christian church in Jerusalem, is completely destroyed by the "mad" Fatimid caliph Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, who hacke, 1735 to February 9, 1796, at which point he retired in favor of his son, the Jiaqing Emperor - a filial act in order not to reign longer than his grandfather, the illustrious Kangxi Emperor. Despite his retirement, however, he retained ultimate power until his death in 1799.
