The Porsche 997 is the Porsche 911 model produced from July 2004. Two variants were available at launch, the Carrera and the Carrera S, both naturally aspirated coupes. The Carrera has a 3.6 litre flat-6 engine producing 325 bhp (242 kW) and the Carrera S has a 3.8 litre flat-6 engine producing 355 bhp (265 kW). The exterior styling is changed little from the previous 996 series, the most notable difference being a return to the circular headlights of pre-996 911s with separate indicator units. The interior has been updated. Performance for the Carrera and Carrera S is claimed to be 0-100 km/h (62 mph) times of 5.0 and 4.8 seconds respectively and top speeds of 285 and 293 km/h (177 and 182 mph) respectively.
