Paul James Cowie (born 23 May 1968) is an Australian Egyptologist and archaeologist of the Ancient Near East.

A graduate of the University of Sydney and Macquarie University, both in Sydney, Australia, Cowie has worked extensively in sites in Egypt, ( Saqqara) and Israel ( Akhziv , Yafo ). His greatest commitment in recent years, however, has been his work as an area supervisor at the important city site of Rehov in the Jordan Valley.

He is currently resident in London, EnglandEngland is the largest, the most populous, and the most densely populated of the four " Home Nations" which make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK). Occupying the south-eastern portion of the island of Great Britain, England, where he is completing his doctoral dissertation on the topic of Egyptian imperialism in the Levant in the New Kingdom period, and works as the editor of Ancient Near East .net, an archaeological information portal devoted to the archaeology and ancient history of Egypt and the ancient Near East.
