Ozaukee County is a county located in the State of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population is 82,317. Its county seat is Port Washington 6.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,891 km˛ (1,116 mi˛). 601 km˛ (232 mi˛) of it is land and 2,290 km˛ (884 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 79.22% water.
As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 82,317 people, 30,857 households, and 23,019 families residing in the county. The population density is 137/km˛ (355/mi˛). There are 32,034 housing units at an average density of 53/km˛ (138/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 96.72% White, 0.93% Black or African American, 0.20% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.34% from other races, and 0.73% from two or more races. 1.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 30,857 households out of which 36.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.60% are married couples living together, 6.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.40% are non-families. 21.40% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
