Ojiya (小千谷市; -shi) is a city located in Niigata, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 40,883 and a density of 263.56 persons per kmē. The total area is 155.12 kmē.

The city was founded on March 10, 1954.

On October 23, 2004, the Chuetsu Earthquake struck Ojiya, causing shaking measured at shindo 6+ and causing fatalities. Electricity was lost 3 days after the earthquake.
