The North American F-107A was a development for the F-100 Super Sabre that resulted in such extensive changes that a new number was assigned to the project. Three aircraft were built and tested. It had an unusual jet intake location, directly behind and above the pilot's canopy. It also used spoilers to control the aircraft in roll, instead of the usual ailerons.
