Home > Norman Hunter

Norman Hunter was a member of the Leeds United football team of the 1960s and 1970s, managed by Don Revie. His tough-tackling defensive style - typical of that Leeds team - earned him the nickname "Bites-Yer-Legs".

In recent years, Norman has been an expert summariser on BBC Radio Leeds for their live coverage of Leeds United matches.

Norman Hunter ( 1899- 1995) is also the name of a British children's author, best known for his character Professor Branestawm. Bizarrely, one of the writer's middle names was Lorimer, the surname of a Leeds colleague of his footballing namesake.
