1 Geography

Newport Coast is located at 33°35'59" North, 117°49'41" West (33.599624, -117.827938) ¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.7 km² (7.2 mi²). 18.3 km² (7.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.22% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 2,671 people, 1,001 households, and 776 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 146.3/km² (378.9/mi²). There are 1,106 housing units at an average density of 60.6/km² (156.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 78.06% White, 0.26% African American, 0.15% Native American, 18.08% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census. There are 1,001 households out of which 35.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.3% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
