Planned missions include:
- Earth Observing 3 , also known as GIFTS ( Geostationary Imaging Fourier Transform SpectrometerFourier transform spectroscopy is a measurement technique whereby spectra are collected based on the response from a pulse of electromagnetic radiation. It can be applied to variety of types of spectroscopy including infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear) -- launch 20052005 is a common year starting on Saturday (link will take you to calendar). - Space Technology 5 , a cluster of three satellites investigating the Earth's magnetosphereA magnetosphere is the region around an astronomical object, in which phenomena are dominated by its magnetic field. Earth is surrounded by a magnetosphere, as are the magnetized planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Mercury is magnetized, but too planned for 20052005 is a common year starting on Saturday (link will take you to calendar).
