Home > Marton, Middlesbrough
Birthplace of Captain James Cook on the sunny side of Middlesbrough. Attractions include Stewart's Park, a large nature reserve with public access in which thrive several varieties of wild species, including the rabbit, bird and squirrel. The James Cook Memorial Museum has pride of place in this grassy, treeey expanse. Marton is noted for its proximity to the local countryside and despite the presence of Stewart's Park, most newcomers to Marton are merely passers-through, paying a fleeting visit to this historical suburbia on their way to the stunning North York Moors.
