Magnum is a world-renowned photographic agency, holding offices in New York, Paris, London and Tokyo.

Founded in 1947, as a direct response to World War II experiences, by legendary war photographer Robert Capa, David "Chim" Seymour, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger , and Bill Vandivert , Magnum is probably the first photographic cooperativeA cooperative (also co-operative or co-op comprises a legal entity owned and democratically controlled by its members, with no passive shareholders. Unlike a union, a cooperative may assign different numbers of votes to different members; typically a coop, entirely owned and controlled by its members.
