The Honourable Lois Elsa Hole, OOC, C.M., A.O.E. (Born: Buchanan, Saskatchewan -) is a Canadian politician, businesswoman, educator and best-selling author and the current Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta. She has been Lieutenant-Governor since February 10, 2000.

As a businesswoman, Hole and her husband incorporated Hole's Greenhouses & Gardens, one of Canada's largest retail greenhouse chains, in 1979.

She as appointed a member of the Order of Canada in 1999. In 1995, her Honour was named Edmonton Business and Professional Woman of the Year and as St. Albert's Citizen of the Year. In 2003 she was awarded Gandhi, King, Ikeda Humanitarian Award. She was made an "Honourary Patricia" by the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. The Alberta Library Trustees Association also established the Lois Hole Award in 2001.

During her term in office, Hole was diagnosed with cancer in 20022002 is a common year starting on Tuesday (see link for calendar). 2002 was the first palindromic year since 1991 and the last until 2112. 2002 was also designated: International Year of Ecotourism and Mountains National Science Year in the United Kingdom.
