As of the 2000 census there are 434 census-designated places (CDPs) in New York State.
Due to a glitch in import of data, many of the CDPs have been misidentified as towns, and many of these articles have yet to be fixed. Also, the naming of the CDPs is inconsistent. Therefore, two links for each CDP are provided (at least one should be blue, though it may lead to a disambiguation page).
