Liminka (Limingo in Swedish) is a municipality in the province of Oulu, in Finland. Liminka is located about 25 kilometres south of Oulu. The population of Liminka is 6,475 ( 2003- 12-31 ) and the municipilaty covers an area of 643.59 kmē (excluding sea areas) of which 4.78 kmē is inland water ( 2004- 01-01 ). The population density is 10.1 inhabitants per kmē ( 2004- 01-01 ). Municipilaty of Liminka has been founded in 1477.The Bay of Liminka (Liminganlahti in Finnish) is a famous bird paradise.
