Lewiston is a village located in Niagara County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,781.

The Village of Lewiston was established in 1822. The village is within the Town of Lewiston. The Earl W. Brydges Artpark State Park lies at its southern border.

1 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.1 km˛ (1.2 mi˛). 2.8 km˛ (1.1 mi˛) of it is land and 0.3 km˛ (0.1 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 9.32% water.

Lewiston is a Niagara River community, north of Niagara Falls, New York. Across the river is the region of Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada.

The village is at the west terminus of Route 104 (Ridge Road) and is adjacent to the Robert Moses Parkway.

2 Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,000 people, 1,268 households, and 735 families residing in the village. The population density is 1,003.5/km˛ (2,610.3/mi˛). There are 1,351 housing units at an average density of 487.5 persons/km˛ (1,268.1 persons/mi˛).
