L'Anse is a village located in Baraga County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,107. It is the county seat of Baraga County 6. The village is located within L'Anse Township.

1 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.7 km² (2.6 mi²). 6.6 km² (2.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.39% is water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 2,107 people, 894 households, and 540 families residing in the village. The population density is 317.8/km² (821.9/mi²). There are 981 housing units at an average density of 148.0/km² (382.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 91.22% White, 0.09% African American, 5.55% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census.
