Kuchum khan [ku-CHUM] ( Tatar: Küçüm, Russian: Кучум) (?-~ 1598), the khan (ruler) of Siberian Khanate ( 1563- 1598). He is the son of prince Mortaza from the dynasty of Säyban /shay-BAHN/ khan. Since 1554 he started to struggle for Siberian Khanate's throne against nobleman Yädegär . In 1563 Yädegär was driven away and Küçüm took Siberian throne. In 1573 he started raid to Perm. In 1582- 1585 Küçüm was at war against Cossack ataman Yermak's troops. After death of Yermak, he returned back Qashliq – the capital of Siberian Khanate ( 1585). Trying make khanate strong and indivisible he meet resistance of aristocracy. After plot and overturn, organized by Säyet khan and nobleman Qaraçi /qah-rah-CHEE/], Küçüm was forced to move his own horde to steppe of Irtysh river. There he tried to found new khanate and was in war against Russian voyevodas (governors) until 1598.

A lot of legends and stories about his was against ataman Yermak kept.
