John R. Lott Jr. (born May 8, 1958) is currently a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. His fields of interest for research include Econometrics, Law and economics, Public Choice, Industrial Organization, Public Finance, Microeconomic Theory and Environmental Regulation. Lott has published over 90 articles in academic journals, as well as three books for the general public . He has appeared on such television programs as the ABC and NBC National Evening News broadcasts.
