Goad culled much sordid material for his magazine, which he edited with his late ex-wife, Debbie Goad . They published four issues before running afoul of authorities with #4 (the " Rape Issue"), which offered a multifaceted view of the phenomenon of rape. It was discovered for sale at The Newstand by a young woman attending Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA who passed it on to a battered women's shelter .
Goad has authored two books: The Redneck Manifesto, wherein he explores themes of lower class white disenfranchisement from a unique vantage point; and Shit Magnet , his autobiography (written while in prison).
