Jerzy Samp (born 23 March, 1951, Gdansk, Poland) is a Polish writer, publicist and historian of literature and culture of Pomerania, and also activist of Kashubian-Pomeranian Association (chairman of Gdansk Branch 1986-1989, 1995-)

He has studied Polish filology in University of Gdansk and graduated in 1975, received doctor title in 1982, doctor habilitowany title in 1992 and a title of professor in 1995. Since 1975 he works in Gdansk University in the Division of History of Literature and Culture of Pomerania of 19th and 20th century. He is also a member of Gdansk Scientific Society (Gdanskie Towarzystwo Naukowe), Folklor Commission of the Polish Literature Commission of the Polish Academy of Science (Polska Akademia Nauk), Kashubian Istitute (Instytut Kaszubski), Polish Writers Associations (Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich).
