After Rejewski made the conceptual breakthrough against the Enigma cypher rotor machine used by the German Army, Rózycki was part of the team that further developed the break into a useful intelligence tool. He was, for instance, involved in the design of the cyclometer and bomba devices which were used to rule out impossible Enigma keys or, alternatively, to help identify possible keys.
