The Jedi Starfighter is a fictional starfighter from the Star Wars saga. Its official name, given to it by manufacturer Kuat Drive Yards, is the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor. It first appeared in , and returned in , along with an advanced model.

The Delta-7 was a small, sleek interceptor used by the Jedi Knights for reconnaissance missions. However, the starfighter was fitted with dual laser cannon s - and could be modified to hold quad-pulse cannons - allowing the Jedi to fight when necessary. Part of the Judicial Department , the Jedi starfighter was coloured in the red-and-white hues that represented diplomatic immunity in the Republic.

The Jedi starfighter had no hyperdrive, instead relying on a remote hyperspace ring for transportation at lightspeed . The size of the craft would not allow for a dedicated hyperdrive, nor a factory-model astromech navigator, as future snubfighters such as the X-wing used. Instead, R3- and R4-units were integrated directly into the starfighter, with only the droids' truncated heads visible.

The Delta-series pre-dated the use of the Jedi starfighter, which came into action shortly before the Clone Wars. A Delta-6 fighter was used previously by the Jedi, and a Delta-12 Skysprite was in operation during the launch of the Outbound Flight Project . Jedi Master Adi Gallia flight-tested a Delta-7 prototype when faced with Captain Cavik Toth and his Hex fleet. Thanks to this trial, Saesee Tiin made several modifications to the starfighters, for increased performance in the Clone Wars.

Stationed in the hangar bays of the Jedi Temple and other facilities, Jedi starfighters were assigned to all field Jedi. General-use starfighters were coloured in turqoise, while other hues emerged due to individual customization during the Clone Wars. Anakin SkywalkerAnakin Skywalker is a fictional character from Star Wars''. Anakin is played in the films by Jake Lloyd as a child, Hayden Christensen as a young adult, and Sebastian Shaw as a dying, elderly (and redeemed) person. The name "Anakin" means "warrior. Anakin extensively modified his Delta-7, adding large tubine engines and a paint scheme reminiscant of that used on his Podracer on TatooineIn George Lucas's Star Wars saga, Tatooine is the home planet of the Skywalker family and the setting for much of the action in the saga's films (as well as several of the novels and other pieces of written fiction). The planet is not actually named in St.

Towards the end of the Clone Wars, Kuat Drive Yards created an advanced Jedi starfighter, which included a hyperdrive and a complete astro-droid. These fighters were used during the Battle of CoruscantThe Battle of Coruscant is a fictional conflict in the Star Wars saga, taking place during the opening scene of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Note The following plotline is in part a conjecture of what viewers can expect to happen in the fil. Several years after the Clone Wars ended, Kuat sold the entire Delta line to Sienar Fleet SystemsSienar Fleet Systems (actual name: Santhe/Sienar Technologies is major starship manufacturer from the fictional Star Wars universe.
