Japantown was an old section in Vancouver beside Chinatown. It was attacked in the early 1900's by the Asiatic Exclusion League, which burned down Chinatown. Japantown knew about the attacks, and the Japanese defeated the Asiatic Exclusion League members from destroying their shops. Today Japantown is very small and not really noticed or heard about however a new enclave is developing on Alberni street near the Central Business District. Vancouver neighbourhoods
