Irregular Galaxy IC 10 (or simply IC 10) is an irregular galaxy, a dwarf galaxy, and a starburst galaxy in the Cassiopeia constellation. It was discovered by Lewis Swift in 1889. IC 10 is located approximately 2.7 million light years away from the Milky Way. It is also the closest known starburst galaxy and a member of the Local Group.
