Irene Dunne ( December 20, 1898September 4, 1990), born Irene Marie Dunn in Louisville, Kentucky, was an American film actress.

She died of heart failure in Los Angeles, California at age 91, and is entombed in the Calvary Cemetery in East Los Angeles, California. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6440 Hollywood Blvd.

Her other notable roles included Anna OwensAnna Leonowens ( 1831 1915) is chiefly famous for being the British governess portrayed in The King and I''. Although she claimed to have been born Anna Harriette Crawford in Caernarfon, Wales on November 5, 1834, recent investigations discovered no recor in Anna and the King of SiamAnna and the King of Siam is a book by Margaret Landon, a play and a 1946 movie. Based on the diaries of Anna Leonowens, a British governess in the Royal Court of Siam (now modern Thailand) during the 1860s, the story mainly concerns the culture clash of and Lavinia (Vinnie) Day in Life with FatherLife with Father is a 1947 comedy movie which tells the true story of a stockbroker who wants to be master of his house, but finds his wife and his children ignoring him, until they start making demands for him to change his own life. It stars William Pow.
