Irem Corporation (アイレム) was a Japanese arcade game developer and manufacturer. They are probably most well known for the famous scrolling shooter R-Type. Besides that they have been a popluar developer for the Pc-Engine in Japan with games like Photoboy, or in the hunt for the Sega Saturn.

On April 15, 1997 Irem Software Engineering was founded, and took over management of Irem Corporation in July of that year.
