She is based on the islands of Iona and Mull in the Hebrides and in Glasgow, Scotland. The Iona Community is a scattered community. Her members live mainly in Scotland, England and Wales, others live in Australia, Germany, Malaysia and the United States of AmericaThe United States of America also referred to as the United States U. America ¹ or the States is a federal republic in central North America, stretching from the Atlantic in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west. It shares land borders with Canada in. There are at present 260 Full Members, 1600 Associates and 1600 Friends of the Community.
The Iona Community runs 3 residential centres on the Isle of Iona and on Mull. These are places of welcome and engagement giving a unique opportunity to live together in community with people of every background from all over the world. Weeks at the centres often follow a programme related to the concerns of the Iona Community, and people are invited to come and share the life.
Wild Goose Publications, part of the Iona Community established in the Celtic Christian tradition of St Columba, produces books on social justice, political and peace issues, holistic spirituality, healing, and innovative approaches to worship, including music (books, tapes, CDs), short drama scripts and material for personal reflection and group discussion.
The Wild Goose Resource Group takes its name from one of the ancient Celtic symbols for the Holy Spirit and exists to enable and equip congregations and clergy in the shaping and creation of new forms of relevant and participative worship. The group consists of two resource workers, John L. BellBELL is an ordained minister of the Church of Scotland and a Member of the Iona Community. After a period in the Netherlands and two posts in church youth work, he became employed full time in the areas of music and worship with the Wild Goose Resource Gr and Graham MauleGRAHAM MAULE studied architecture, followed by several years in youth work, before moving into the area of worship renewal and adult education with the Wild Goose Resource Group of the Iona Community. Graham’s main areas of interest are in innovative lay supported by a small admin team lead by Gail Ullrich.
