Inwood is the neighborhood at the northern end of Manhattan. It is bounded by Dyckman Street, the Harlem River, the Harlem Ship Canal , and the Hudson River. To the south is Washington Heights and the north is The Bronx and Marble Hill. Some people consider its southern boundary to be Fairview Avenue.

Inwood is a largely residential neighborhood, consisting mostly of apartment houses and parkland. It also houses a subway yard and Columbia University's football stadium.

Inwood was majority Irish for most of the Twentieth Century, but today the neighborhood is mostly Dominican.

Inwood Hill Park, on the Hudson River, is a largely wooded city park that contains caves that were used by the Lenape before Europeans arrived, and the last salt marsh in Manhattan.
