International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center – better known by its Spanish acronym CIMMYT, from Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Maíz y Trigo – is a research institute dedicated to the development of improved strains of wheat and maize.

It is based in Mexico and has another 17 regional offices elsewhere in the world.
