The Inter-Toto Cup is a mini tournament which allows clubs to apply to participate in the hope of qualifying for the UEFA Cup. Most of the clubs who apply are from England, Germany or Italy, as clubs from these leagues do not go through the qualifying stages of the UEFA Cup.

1 Structure

There 5 rounds for the Inter-Toto, but it is almost 3 knock-out competitions in one, as there are 3 Finals, and 3 clubs win to go through to the UEFA Cup. The Competition takes place in July.

2 Crticisms

Because of the fact it is a competitive competition which takes place in July, many managers have criticised the competition because it doesn't allow pre-season training, and clubs such as West Ham and Aston Villa have repeatedly claimed that entering the competiotion makes the players more fatigued by the end of the season.
