Home > Infantry tank

Infantry tanks were a concept used by the British during World War II. They were designed to be slow (they needed only to keep up with infantry) and heavily armored. It was thought that they would plod through heavily guarded enemy lines, opening gaps for cruiser tanks to exploit.

In practice they turned out to be considerably less eficient and their slow speed made them easy targets for powerful anti-tank guns like the German 88 mm gun.
